1532132 Reversing gearing; friction clutches HURTH VERWALTUNGS GmbH 11 Feb 1977 [6 April 1976] 05683/77 Headings F2D and F2C [Also in Division B7] A reversing gearing for a boat has an input shaft 3 which drives an output shaft 8 through bevel gears 5, 7 or 6, 7 depending on which of two multiplate friction clutches is engaged. A clutch, e.g. the left-hand clutch in Fig. 2, is engaged by moving a sleeve 16 to the left which causes an inclined surface 35 of the sleeve to engage a tooth 44 of a clutch engaging member 18 to partially engage the clutch. Full engagement is by balls 66 between wedging surfaces of the member 18 and the sleeve carrier 15. Springs 75, 76 limit the clutch engaging force so that the clutches will slip if excess torque occurs. The rotation of clutch engaging members 17 and 18 relative to the support 15 is limited by a stop co-operating with a recess (Fig. 4, not shown).

Known reverse gear, mainly for Z-shaped drive of water vehicles, containing a reversible coupling. Consisting of two friction rings with friction elements and a holder rigidly connected to the drive shaft, and drive bevel gears, fitted with a common drive bevel gear ilj.
However, such a transmission does not provide smooth switching, which reduces its reliability.
The purpose of the invention is to increase the reliability of transmission.
For this, the friction elements are filled in the form of discs, and the reversible coupling is provided with an inclusion clutch mounted on the holder and spring elements placed between the disks and cone driven gears, while the contacting surfaces of the holder and the friction rings are made with hollows and the elements are placed in them swing
In addition, the reversible coupling is made with two limiting stops serving to limit the travel of the spring elements to the maximum permissible load.
The friction rings are made with at least one tooth, and the turn-on clutch has circumferential grooves in which the teeth are placed, while the teeth and the grooves are made with faces facing each other inclined to the plane of rotation. In addition, the spring elements are made in the form of cup springs, the rolling elements are in the form of balls, and the hollows on the holder and on the friction rings have inclined faces, and the interaction of the elements with each other, when the teeth and grooves are turned off, are angled to holder and friction rings.

The Z-shaped drive for water transnopTHoro means 1 contains an engine 2 connected via a horizontal drive shaft 3 on which a reversing gear 4 is installed, two driving bevel gears 5 and 6 and a bevel gear 7 which engages with them about oiee shaft 8, bevel gears 9, 10 with a shaft 11 on which the propeller 12 is mounted. Bevel gears 5 and 6 are freely mounted on the flange 3. Their axial movement is limited by a washer 13-side step 14. The reverse gear contains a reversible clutch, from the holder. 15 fixed on the shaft 3 between the gears 5 and 6, on which the coupling 16 is mounted, and the friction rings 17 and 18, freely (rotatably) mounted on the shaft 3. The friction rings have recesses 19 in which the outer frictional elements made in the form of discs 20; Internal friction elements (discs) 21 are placed between external discs, 22 engaged gears 22 and 5, 6 with external gears. The packages of external and internal discs are pressed with pressure plates.the axial gap between ustu PAMI 25, 26 of gears 5, 6 and the retaining rings 27, 28. The inclusion clutch 1 consists of a body, all of them. annular groove 40,. and jumpers 41, 42, forming circumferential grooves 43, 44. On the inner surface, the housing has inclined. faces 45, 46. Jumpers 41 42 have inclined faces 47, 48, parallel faces 45 46 Friction rings 17 , .19 are made with teeth 49, 50, faces 51, 52, parachal faces 47, 48. The grooves 44, 43 are axially wider than the widths of the plates 41 and 42. The holder 15 has a groove in which a spring-loaded clamp 53 is installed fixing the coupling 16, and in the latter there is a slot 54 for the retainer and bevels 55, 56 for fixing the other positions of the coupling 16. In the holder 15 is mounted anes pins 57 and the friction rings have a recess 58 to provide angular movement ring of friction relative to the holder. The locking rings 27, 28 and the pins 57 with the recesses 58 are restrictive ones that serve to limit the travel of the spring elements until they exceed and maximize the permissible load. Work transfer occurs as follows. In the initial state, the teeth 49.50 and bridges 41, 42 are pressed to each other by faces, parallel axes, and are fixed relative to each other.
